Seachem Prime – Complete Aquarium Water Conditioner (250 mL)

Product Overview

Seachem Prime is a potent and concentrated water conditioner suitable for both freshwater and marine aquariums. It not only removes chlorine and chloramine, but also neutralizes harmful ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate—making them temporarily harmless while your biofilter processes them naturally.

Key Benefits

  • Chlorine & Chloramine Removal: Rapidly eliminates these common disinfectants from tap water.

  • Detoxifies Nitrogenous Toxins: Converts ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate into non-toxic forms, providing a protective window for fish.

  • Heavy Metal Detoxification: Binds metal contaminants often present in municipal water.

  • Supports Natural Slime Coat: Encourages healthy protective mucus without using artificial boosters.

  • Reef-Safe & pH-Neutral: Non-acidic formula that won’t disrupt pH or trigger protein skimmers.

Usage Instructions

  • Standard Dose: Add 1 capful (5 mL) per 200 L (50 US gal) of new or replacement water. For small volumes, each cap thread holds ~1 mL.

  • High Chloramine Loads: Double dose safely when tap water includes heavy chloramine levels.

  • Ammonia/Nitrite Spikes: For emergencies, up to 5× the regular dose can be used without harm to aquatic life.

  • High Temperature (>30 °C/86 °F): Use a half-dose when chlorine/ammonia levels are low and water is warm.

Why Seachem Prime?

  • 5× Concentrated: More potent than many competitors, requiring smaller dosages to treat the same volume.

  • Biofilter-Friendly: By detoxifying ammonia/nitrite and releasing it gradually, it enhances nitrification and overall filter efficiency.

  • Convenient & Versatile: Works effectively during tank cycling, water changes, and when adding new fish.
