The JBL Sansibar River Sand is a natural aquarium substrate designed to create a realistic riverbed environment in both freshwater and marine aquariums, as well as terrariums. The 10 kg bag is suitable for medium to large tanks and offers several benefits for aquatic life.

Key Features:

  • Natural Aesthetic: Light-colored, fine sand mixed with black pebbles, mimicking natural riverbeds.
  • Gentle on Aquatic Life: The coarse-grained, round-shaped sand prevents injuries to sensitive barbels of bottom-dwelling fish, making it ideal for species such as rays, kuhli loaches, and catfish.
  • Promotes Natural Behavior: Encourages digging and burrowing behaviors in fish, contributing to their well-being.
  • Safe for Inhabitants: Does not release unwanted pollutants into the water, ensuring a healthy environment for fish, invertebrates, and plants.
  • Versatile Use: Suitable for both freshwater and marine aquariums, as well as terrariums.

Specifications:

  • Grain Size: Approximately 0.8 mm.
  • Bag Weight: 10 kg.
  • Volume: Approximately 11.2 liters.

Usage Instructions:

  • Preparation: Rinse the sand thoroughly with tap water to remove any dust or debris before adding it to the aquarium.
  • Application: Spread the substrate evenly over the aquarium floor to a depth of about 6-8 cm, especially if you have live plants that require rooting.
  • Planting: If using live plants, plant them into the substrate, ensuring their roots are adequately covered.
  • Maintenance: Regularly clean the substrate using an aquarium gravel cleaner to remove detritus without disturbing the sand bed excessively.

Incorporating JBL Sansibar River Sand into your aquarium setup not only enhances the visual appeal but also provides a functional and safe environment for your aquatic inhabitants.
